Meet My Family
My name is Dennis Linthicum. My wife, Diane, and I have lived in Klamath County for nearly 14 years. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we continue to love living and working in the beautiful Klamath Basin. We have two children, both are college graduates and both are happily married.
I have a BA in Economics from UCLA, and have worked for 30-plus years in large and small-scale software and database application development. I currently support a wide range of clients in both PC and MAC OS environments. Additionally, in May, 2010, I will receive a Master's Degree from Biola University.
The most difficult challenge that faces our county is the danger associated with too much government. The duties that rightfully belong to families and individuals are being slowly eroded by the over-reach of county, state and federal governments. Our government appears to think itself responsible for everything.
This is a very dangerous idea.
In fact, this is what led our Founding Fathers to develop the system of checks and balances. Their goal was to prevent abuse from any concentrated single source of governmental authority. Yet, even today, the Legislature, the Executive, and the Judicial branches of government are becoming less and less effective at providing any meaningful restraint.
And,... it starts right here, at the county level...
